Creme De Menthe and Cocoa

Makeupbee.com is currently running a contest sponsored by Shu Uemura entitled The Chocolat-Donna Looks Competition.  The concept is to create a chocolate inspired makeup look! How fun AND delicious!

This is my entry...inspired by one of my favorite adult beverages!

My inspiration: The Grasshopper
But who thinks the word "Grasshopper" exquisitely beautiful?  Um... maybe a starving bird or something...so I put my twist on it, and henceforth this look is called Creme De Menthe and Cocoa! SO SHALL IT BE DONE!

First I applied my foundation, concealer, powder, and brows (don't want to bore you with the details!).

Then... EYES:
♥ UDPP
♥ Vanilla shade under the brow down to crease.
♥ Volcano by Nyx to crease.
♥ Spicy Bronze by Rimmel London to blend Volcano up and out.
♥ Sage by Pure Luxe Cosmetics to lid. It's a perfect shimmery mint color!
♥ Matte black shadow to outer V and crease to add depth and drama!
♥ Black shadow and sage used to line lower lid.
♥ Black eyeliner to upper lid and water line.  Mascara.
♥ A giant pair of flirty lashes by Red Cherry in WSP.

Cheeks:
♥ The 2nd shade in (bottom row) on this versatile Coastal Scents Palette!

Lips:
♥ MUA Lip Boom in It's a Situation. It's a deep berry color that is rich and perfect for fall!

                                                            It turned out quite lovely!
                                                                 I hope you like it!

                                                           Ivy was really impressed!

Runway Makeup- Anna Sui

I was thumbing through my latest issue of Glamour Magazine, and found this amazing runway look from Anna Sui's Fall Collection that was featured earlier this year.  I think it's stunning.
Runway looks are a little out of my norm, so it's even more of an excuse to give it a go and have some fun!
Getting out of my comfort zone is an excellent opportunity to flex underused muscles! I hope you like it!

After I completed my foundation and brows:

♥  Nyx Jumpo Pencil in Pacific to stencil out lid shape.
♥  Velocity shadow from  my Sugarpill Heartbreaker Palette applied to lid  :-)
♥ Then I added some mascara, delicate lashes (Ardell 120's), and black liquid eyeliner.
♥  Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk to waterline, and then dusted on Sugarpill Tako shadow to set it.
♥ Then added a tiny circle under my iris in Velocity.  Voila!

The rest of the look just called for contouring of the cheekbones, and barely if any lip product.  I just used E.L.F lip stain in Nude Nectar.

I wanted super sleek hair to match the runway look as best as I could.  Living in Arizona in the middle of monsoon season, that is absolutely impossible!!  My frizz cannot be tamed!  However, I was recently sent the most amazing hair straightener from SFRBeauty.com, I couldn't wait to use it for this!

SFRbeauty.com is an online beauty company based out of San Francisco, California. They offer a wide range of beauty products ranging from skincare, cosmetics, body and haircare to customers worldwide. They have an extensive site that is very user friendly :-)
Check out this straightener!

This particular model is the Cortex Platinum Black series.  It features tourmaline, ceramic, ionic plates, adjustable heat, on/off switch, and the outer texture is a powdery soft feel so it glides easily through your hair without getting caught.  I've used this to create curls, waves, and flips- and it's effortless.  The results are amazing.  This is my new favorite styling tool.

Thank you again for visiting my blog :-) This week's look is a bit outside of the box for me, but I love how it turned out.  Hope you like it, too.  Don't be afraid to take risks with your makeup.  Sometimes we can create amazing things when we least expect it!
