Sunshine Award

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to do a quick fun post because I was nominated for this sweet award by a very dear blogger friend of mine, Deja.  I adore her creativity, friendliness, and encouragement. :-) She's quite wonderful, so if you have a moment to pay her a visit, please do!

The Rules For This Award
1. Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Post the logo of the award on your blog.
3. Share 7 facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 5 or more blogs that inspire you.

I don't usually talk much about myself, as I tend to be a rather private person- so I will try to make this incredibly fascinating! ;-)

Let's get started, ok?

1.  About 15 years ago I had a dental procedure that went terribly wrong.  I am now permanently numb from the lower left quadrant of my mouth and chin- this includes my lip, teeth, and gums.
I am NUMB, but obviously everything still works fine.

2. One of my favorite songs of all time is "Little L" by Jamiroquai.   Many songs have tried to oust it from my top 10, but failed.  It never gets old to me.  Never.  Many speakers have been blown in my house and car because of this song. :-)

3. I know that I have had too much to drink when I can no longer recite Shakepeare's
 Sonnet #144 from memory.  Fact.

Hey no one said this was a family show!  Cheers y'all!! Ha ha!!

4.  I was nominated for an acting scholarship in college. I competed for it, didn't win.
BUT I was nominated for an acting scholarship in college!! I performed in many shows years ago, also dabbled in theatrical makeup.

I'm the middle.  This show was called "On the Verge" by Eric Overmyer.  Google it! (I was "Fanny")

5.  Not only do I paint faces, but I also have a history of painting on canvas as well :-)

This is a close up pic of a finger painting I did of a man's torso. The entire painting is about 5 feet tall.

Very bold! I love this one! This one gets a lot questions for sure ;-)

6.  I have a fabulous Barbie Collection. (2 dolls)
The dolls that I have are:

♥ Scottish Barbie (because of my family's heritage... I love her red hair.)
♥ And Rupaul.  I love you, Ru!

7.  I am a somnambulist.  A WHAT?

I am a sleepwalker.

I know this because I will wake up in the morning sometimes and I will be missing an article of clothing that I will find somewhere else in the house.  Sometimes I have a vague recollection of getting out of bed and walking around my house.  Strange.  I know.  :-)

♥ Erin / The ANYday Blogger

Smoke and Shimmer

Hey everyone!

For this week's makeup look I wanted to do a smoky eye with a beautiful shadow I got from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  Not only is OCC famous for their incredible Lip Tars, their shadows are absolutely amazing.  I've never been disappointed :-)

The color I chose is Technoir and it is a stunning multi-dimensional blue that I am in love with!
I don't know what it is with me and blue shadows, but I adore them ♥

I also used a newly purchased OCC Lip Tar in Lydia.  This will now be my new daily-wear Lip Tar.
It's my favorite (at the moment). :-)

Check it out! I hope you like it!

The Tools:

I also got a little help from my good friend :-)

♥ Sugarpill shadow in Lumi to inner corner

Chillin With The Queen of Blending

Hey Everyone!

I recently had the honor of meeting The Queen of Blending (Lauren) at a Sephora event here in Arizona.  She has been a makeup artist icon of mine since FOREVER! I've been watching her YouTube videos for years and I love her bold use of color, incredible creativity, and flawless technique.

For me it was quite a dream come true to actually meet her in person!
When I first walked up to her and said hello, I think she gave me a compliment- but in my frantic blank mind I think I just stared at her like a creepy stalker!! WAY TO GO COLLEEN!  Ugh!! (Sorry Lauren!)

Let me just say that I think she is one of the sweetest, most down to earth, most beautiful, friendliest people ever. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and like one of her friends.

It was such a cool experience for me to meet her in person after years and years of watching her videos.  I've probably watched more of her videos than I have watched actual TV!  (That might be a stretch, but it's close!)  I consider her to be one of the founding and elite makeup artists on YouTube.
There are many.
But none are quite like The Queen of Blending. :-)

Here are some of the pics from the event.  I didn't take too many, but the ones I got I think are priceless!!

 GORGEOUS!

I also met some fab friends there too!

This is Sergio and I was drooling over his makeup!  Sergio is a makeup artist for MAC over at Arrowhead and my new BFF!  If you see him, tell him I said hello!

Also, before I arrived Leesha (xsparkage) was there!  Bummer I missed her, but Sergio sent me this adorable picture so I could post it :-)  How cute is this!?!?

It was a great time!

In case you'd like to see The Queen of Blending work her magic, I will post one of her videos below. Check it out :-)

I hope you have a blessed week!! Thank you so much for visiting!
xoxo,
Colleen
