Cabaret

Hey, Everyone!

For this week's makeup look, I wanted to do something slightly more bold and playful.  I've always loved the vintage and flirty makeup of Burlesque and Cabaret performers.
Usually features are over emphasized, lashes are strong, and lips are bold and defined.
When I came up with the idea for this look, I wanted to keep it "vintage", flirty, and a bit glam...
Surprised?
Well, you know me! ☺

So for this look, I took inspiration from Liza Minnelli's makeup from the film "Cabaret" and put my own modern twist to it.  (Inspiration pic at end of post!)

I hope you like it!

Edgy Smoky Eye

Hey, Everyone!

I've been wearing a lot of neutral makeup lately, and I've gotten so bored of that!  Yikes!
I wanted to glam it up this weekend, so I created a deep smoky eye with a lot of flash.  A really sultry look with pizazz.  A "notice me" kind of a look.

I used some blue hues, and topped them with a black, multi-colored glitter that is edgy and gorgeous!
This is the kind of look that I imagine myself wearing with a black leather jacket, jeans, and spiked heels.  I love the attitude of this smoky eye!

I hope you like it!

Product Review: Modere

Hey, Everyone!

I was recently contacted by Modere.com  to review some of their products. This is a new brand that I wasn't familiar with, so I immediately looked them up and did some research.

Modere is a global company that offers innovative products ranging from personal care, health & wellness, and household items.  Modere's focus is on creating products that are stylish, safe, and smart. They offer high quality items that are affordable, effective, and free of harsh ingredients and chemicals.

The website has a modern feel to it, and it is extremely easy to navigate around, browse, shop, and learn about each product.

With all this being said, I was delighted to receive the items I expressed interest in.

I selected items from the Personal Care line, and I received the Hand Cream, Make-Up Remover, and the Anti-Aging Serum.

The Hand Cream:

The hand cream has a wonderful texture, and is very emollient.  I found the formula to be highly moisturizing, and a little goes a very long way.  The consistency is thinner than what most would consider to be a "cream" but it is extremely effective.  The only thing about this product that I didn't "love" was that it had no fragrance.  For me, personally, I love a nice fragrance with my lotions and creams.  I could easily overlook this, as it made my hands silky smooth, and withstood multiple hand washings.  The size and shape of this bottle makes it very purse friendly.

The Make-Up Remover:

I really put this product to the test! It held up its end of the bargain and easily removed heavy makeup including glitter, adhesives, lipsticks, eyeliners, and waterproof mascaras. This is a dual-phase formula that you shake to mix the ingredients. This makeup remover melted away my cosmetics with ease and left my skin soft and smooth.

The Anti-Aging Serum:

This Anti-Aging serum is a quick absorbing fluid that leaves your skin hydrated and refined. When it comes to advanced skin care products - products that are intended to make a difference- I give myself plenty of time to see how my skin responds.  It can take at least 30 days for your skin to complete a cycle (when new skin cells migrate and move up to the surface of your skin). So, if you really want to know if a product is working for you, it's recommended to stick with it for at least a month and see how your skin has responded. If you only use a product for a few days you won't get an honest response to its long term effect.  In a few weeks time I noticed a difference in my fine lines, and my overall skin elasticity was firmer. I will continue to use this product for its anti-aging properties.
This product is great for use on the face, back of the hands, neck, and decollete.

I want to thank Modere for the opportunity to review their products.  As per the usual, the opinions expressed here are my own. ♥

I truly love it when you do!

Colleen
