Forgotten Makeup: Use What You Have!

Hey, Everyone!

For today's post, I am dipping into my "Forgotten Makeup Collection" and using some eyeshadows that I got a while back but have never used. Using them makes me wonder why I ever forgot about them in the first place!

I know it's fun for me to get the "newest" or the "trendiest" makeup, but sometimes it's more fun to dig up forgotten treasures! I need to do this more often - otherwise you will be seeing me on an episode of "Hoarders", buried in makeup!

The brand of makeup that I used for this look is called Pure Luxe, and the website offers a ton of colors, all cheap and in sample jars.  So if you are looking to build your collection of mineral pigments, this is a good option to try.

Regardless of the brand, the cost, or the trend - be inspired, but USE WHAT YOU LIKE!
(Granted, if the makeup is old/used/in bad shape - toss it for hygienic reasons.☺)

So for this look, I went with a gradient blue lid that transitioned out to a gorgeous neutral plum.
On the lower lid I used a fresh green shade.

I also found my new favorite pair of lashes. ☺

I hope you like it!

EYES:

♥ UDPP
♥ Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Pots and Pans (metallic silver) to lid and lower lash line
♥ Ulta Shadow in Naked (vanilla) from brow to crease

♥ Pure Luxe Shadow in Mirage (shimmery blue/green) to inner corner
♥ Pure Luxe Shadow in Iris (light indigo)
♥ Pure Luxe Shadow in Indigo to outer V and edge of lower lash line
♥ Pure Luxe Shadow in Chocolate Grapes (neutral shimmery plum) to crease
♥ Pure Luxe Shadow in Seashore (fresh green) to lower lash line
♥ Black mascara/ eyeliner
♥ Red Cherry Lashes in 605's.
These monsters are super full at the base, then get wispy towards the ends.
Sexy!

FOUNDATION & BLUSH:

♥ Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 120 Classic Ivory
♥ Maybelline Fit Me Foundation 355 Coconut for contour
♥ Maybelline Pressed Powder
♥ Ulta Blush in Sun Kissed

LIPS:

♥ Milani Lipstick in Dulce Caramello
♥ Nyx Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel

There you have it!!
I will be playing with more of these shadows in the future ☺
I have quite a few of them ;-)

Do YOU have any awesome makeup that is collecting dust??

Thank you for stopping by! I truly love it when you do!

June Wantable Box

Hey, Everyone!

I was contacted by the wonderful people over at Wantable, and offered an opportunity to review one of their June goodie boxes.  The last box I received from Wantable was the Halloween cosmetics kit (which blew my mind) so I was so excited to receive this assortment of goodies.

Wantable is a monthly subscription service that allows you to purchase one box at a time for $40, or subscribe for monthly deliveries for $36 a month- with the option to cancel at any time.  You can pick which beauty category you like: Makeup, Intimates, or Accessories.  Since I am a makeup hoarder, the makeup boxes are always my choice!

The website is easy to navigate and offers a Personal Style Quiz, so you get customized full size items that are picked especially for YOU.

Let's see what I got for the month of June!

Mirabella Color Queen Eyeshadow Duo in Shockwave & Woodstock

Shockwave is a bright coral color that flips up to reveal Woodstock, which is a gorgeous shimmering brown.

Also in this box, I received an OFRA eyebrow pencil in the shade "Universal".  This is an easy to wear brown shade that is a must have in any makuep kit!

I really love this PLA-Beauty gloss in Sheer Beauty.  This has a beautiful shiny pink tint to it.

Lastly I received a Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cream Blush and & Pressed Sparklicity Duo in the combo called "Mr. Pink"

The packaging on this product is awesome, and there is quite a lot of product in the compact.  The cream blush is a rosy tone, and it is paired with a pressed sparkle powder in the event you want to add sparkly highlights to cheekbones, shoulders, etc.

I want to thank my friends over at Wantable for the opportunity to review this box.
I really love their subscription service, and I am never disappointed with the items I receive.
If you haven't had the opportunity to visit them, please do!

Thank you so much for stopping by ☺
I truly love it when you do!

Colleen

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette

Hey, Everyone!

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw that I posted a couple of pictures of the new Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette.  It is, without a doubt, an excellent dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.  In addition, you get more colors than the Naked 3 palette and it is significantly less expensive ($19.95). Also, I think the shadow quality, pigmentation, and blendability is pretty awesome.
And I can safely say that after using this palette, and only this palette, every day last week. ☺

Yes, this is my new "Go To" palette.  I absolutely love it.

For this look I used shadows that closely matched Naked 3 shadow colors.  In fact, this look is almost identical to my Naked 3 look that I did when that palette first came out.

Check it out.

BH Cosmetics San Francisco Palette

Hey, Everyone!

For this week's makeup look I wanted to play with my BH Cosmetics San Francisco palette.  I've been hoarding this little cutie for far too long, and I wanted to play with the colors and see how I liked the shadows.

I've been super overly-obsessed with shades of blue lately- so for this look, I used silver, a lilac blue, and a plum-mahogany shadow.  I usually use some massive lashes, but for this look I chose a smaller pair of lashes, and I think the look came out really "fresh" and wearable from day to night. I love the quality of the shadows, and I think this is a really adorable palette to have on hand.  Its size makes it a perfect travel companion if need be.

And you must forgive my hair...  It went HUGE for some reason.
I can hardly wait for the summer storms here in Arizona... all that humidity will just make it MASSIVE and INSANE!  Oh dear...

Anyway! Back to the makeup! ☺
I hope you like the look ♥

EYES:

♥ UDPP
♥ Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk to lid, lower lash, and water line
♥ Shade 1 (silver) to inner corners
♥ Shade 2 (lilac blue) to lid and lower lash line
♥ Shade 3 (plum-mahogany) to crease
♥ Shade 4 (matte black) to outer V and crease
♥ Black mascara and eyeliner
♥ Ardell Wispies lashes

FOUNDATION & BLUSH:

♥ Maybelline Fit me Foundation in 120
♥ Maybelline Pressed powder in Cameo
♥ I mixed the two bottom blushes from the palette to create a nice pink

 LIPS:

♥ Milani Lipstick in Dulce Caramello
♥ Nyx Round Gloss in Whipped
♥ Clear Gloss for added shine

See?  Wearable from day to night ☺

Thank you so much for stopping by!
I truly love it when you do!!

I have to mention that I have been working so hard lately that I haven't had much time to blog or visit with my blogger friends as much as I wish I could.  I am not a full time blogger (sad face) - I have a full time career outside of blogging that has needed my attention lately. So if I've been quiet, that is why.
I am hopeful that things will balance out and I'll be more available - especially during the week!!
Thank you so much for your understanding.  Please remember you can always find me on Instagram and Twitter.  Don't be shy!!

Wishing you the very best.  May you have a blessed week.
xoxo,
Colleen
