Neutral...With a Flare

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are doing well and having a great holiday season!

For this week's look, I wanted to do a neutral look and switch it up with a bold and then soft lip color to show the versatility.
I opted to go for a more dramatic flare to the lid shape, but you can blend the colors to whichever shape you prefer. :-)

I used this E.L.F. Neutral Palette to complete the look, and it was only $3. :-)

Lashes: Red Cherry 62's
Blush: Nyx Powder Blush in Dusty Rose
Lips: Nyx Round Lipstick in Chic Red with Mirenesse Lip Bomb #2 Gloss

Now for a change in lip color:

Lips: Nyx Round Lipstick in Perfect with Cafe Latte Lip Gloss
This is perfect for those who love a dramatic eye paired with a more natural nude lip.

I hope you like it!  I love how versatile neutral colors are for everyone and you can really dress them up or down just by changing your lip color.

Thank you so much for visiting!!  I truly appreciate it :-)
I hope you have a wonderful new year!! Cheers to 2013!!

A Little Holiday Sparkle

Happy Holidays, everyone!!
I hope you are well and enjoying every bit of the holiday season!

I love how versatile holiday makeup can be. Anything goes!
For this look I wanted something sweet and shimmery with a bit of color.

The lashes I used are very festive!  They are flicked with gold glitter, and quite precious.
Hope you like it!

For this look, I predominately used colors from my Coastal Scents Original 88 Palette.

♥ Urban Decay Primer Potion
♥ Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Yogurt to lid
♥ Vanilla colored shadow from crease to brow bone
♥  Light pink shadow to inner corner
♥ Deep purple shadow to crease and lower lash line
♥ Soft pink shadow to blend purple up and out towards brow
♥ Magenta shadow to lid
♥ Stila gold loose powder (Shade 2) dusted on lid to add shimmer
I also used this on my lower inner corner as well
♥ Nyx Jumbo pencil in Milk to waterline
♥ Black mascara and eyeliner
Elise Lashes in #017. They are stunners!

♥ Ulta Powder Blush in Afterglow

♥ Twilight Beauty Femme Fatale Lip Gloss in Butterfly Kisses
This is a sheer pink tinted gloss with rose colored sparkle.

AND if the mood strikes you, wear this with a bold lip color! Don't fret, my sweet bold-lipped ladies!!

Quick & Simple: Teal

Running late for a hot date, holiday party, or other glamorous activity? ;-)

If you are like me this holiday season, the one thing you've been completely out of is, TIME!

This is a really fast and easy look using one of my favorite colors!

I like to use a shimmery, glittery jewel tone for the main color, just because it's a tad bit more dramatic, but you can really use any color you like!

 The Tools:

♥ Brow highlighter shade in a vanilla shade from crease to brow
♥ Nyx Jumbo pencil to lid patted on with finger. Messy is ok!
♥ Shimmery shadow of your choice to lid and blended out to crease. The color I used is called Sea Turtle and you can find it HERE :-)
♥ Bronze shadow to crease to blend it all together. I used Rimmel Spicy Bronze.
♥ Mascara, eyeliner, lashes (optional).  I used Red Cherry 76's.

♥ Nyx Dusty Rose

♥ Disney Villains Lip Gloss in Evil Queen. It's a beautiful deep plum that I love!

I hope you like it! Sometimes simple makeup can be stunning for a night out ;-)

Hope you are all doing well and having a wonderful holiday season!
Many blessings to you and yours this year :-) Thank you so much for stopping by. It truly means the world to me.

Gold Dust

Hello Everyone!!

I hope you are doing well!!

This week's look is a really wearable shimmery gold/bronze look that I absolutely adore. It's extremely versatile for day or night- and what's even better is that the palette I used was $10! (Really it was much less because there is always a sale going on!)

Here it is!

♥ UDPP to prime lid, then dusted a vanilla shadow from crease to brow bone.
♥ Eyes Lips Face Studio Baked Eyeshadow Palette in California
(mine arrived with one broken shadow, but I will survive)

• Shade 1 (purple) to crease
• Shade 2 (rosey bronze) to blend the crease up and out
• Shade 3 (bronze) to lid
• Shade 4 (champagne) to inner corner
• Shade 5 (deep brown) to outer V
• Shade 6 (blue) to lower lid
♥ Black mascara and liner
♥ Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk to waterline
♥ Red Cherry Lashes in WSP

♥ ELF Blush in Tickled Pink

...having a tough time remembering, but I think it was:
♥ Nyx Round Lipstick in Ceto
♥ Nyx Lipgloss in Bronze

Hope you like it!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting!!  I love receiving your comments and invigoration!!
I truly appreciate you and your support.  You are truly amazing :-)

I hope you have a wonderful week :-)

Indigo and Maroon with Glamour Doll Shadows

Hello Everyone! :-) I hope you are doing well!

For this week's makeup look, I am using some gorgeous shadows from Glamour Doll Eyes.  Some of the colors are from the 2012 Halloween Collection that was a limited edition, so I am not certain of their availability at this time (you could always use a similar shade).

I hope you like it!

Here are the colors used.  Please note that Vampire Wedding and Bat Wings are the two colors from the 2012 Halloween Collection.

♥ Primed lids with UDPP and Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Slate
♥ Glamour Doll Shadow in Bruised to lid
♥ Glamour Doll Shadow in Vampire Wedding to Crease, blended up and out.
♥ Glamour Doll Shadow in Bat Wings to outer lower lash line.
♥ Glamour Doll Shadow in Tokyo to inner lower lash line.
♥ Black liner and Mascara
♥ Red Cherry lashes 48's

♥ ELF powder blush in Tickled Pink

♥ Nyx Round Lipstick in Muse
♥ N.Y.C. Liquid Lip Shine in Sungold Pink

I love how the colors blended with one another and created a sparkly finish that twinkled different colors within the light.  I love these shadows! The color Bruised is my new favorite!

Thank you so much for stopping by!! It always means so much to me when you do, and I love receiving your comments and invigoration.  Thank you so much :-)

Life has been a bit hectic for me lately, so I apologize if I've been a bit absent.  If you get bored, you can usually find me on Twitter being a dork ;-)  @VanityandVodka

Blessings to you!

Royal Sugar

Hey Everyone!! Hope you are all doing well!
Sorry I've been a bit out of the loop, lately- life got a bit hectic!  I've tried to jump in from time to time to visit my favorite blogs, so please forgive me if I've been out of touch. :(

This week's look is a favorite of mine.  I hope you like it!

I love a sultry smoky eye- especially using a statement color.  This is one of my favorites.  It's Royal Sugar by Sugarpill.  This color is fierce and full of drama!

I used a dark base on the lids (Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Iced Mocha) and built the color up and out.  I blended using a bit of a matte black shadow in the outer corner and crease, then softly blended the edges using a clean fluffy brush.  I traced the shadow along my lower lash line as well.

After applying black liner to lash and water line, I applied mascara and Ardell Lashes 128's.

Blusher:  Nyx powder blush in Dusty Rose
Lips:  OCC Lip tar in a mix of Trollop and Pageant. It turned out a bold beautiful pink :-)

This is a relatively simple, yet dramatic look that gets a lot of attention :-)

Hope you like it!!  Ivy and I are huge fans of Sugarpill!

Best wishes to you all! I hope your week is full of light and love!

Halloween Look: Mystical Water Nymph

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to get one more Halloween look squeezed in here before the big day. I've seen some really fun and creative ideas out there! Really incredible :-)

For this week's look- I present to you a Mystical Water Nymph :-)

♥ Nyx Jumbo pencil in Milk
♥ Sugar Pill Heartbreaker Palette:
Acidberry to lid, Velocity to outer corner and crease, Mochi to blend crease.
Mochi and Velocity were also applied to lower lid.
♥ Covergirl Shadow in Champagne to inner corner
♥  Brow highlighter shade from Sephora Artist Palette (sorry- forgot the color)
♥ Dark Maiden False Eyelashes (Fantasy Makers?)
♥ Black Liquid Liner and Mascara

♥ Nyx Blush in Dusty Rose

♥ Nyx Eye Pencil in Satin Blue

♥ I found a bunch of crystals and rhinestones at my local craft store and went bananas.  I used a latex free clear eyelash glue to get everything to stick really well to my foundation and powder (kind of tricky).  You might need something more heavy duty if you are going to plan on sweating or moving your face- LOL!!  I did lose a few pieces over a short time (true story! I found rhinestones stuck in odd places the next morning).

I also tried the look with more of a natural lip color just to see how it looked, and I like it just the same.  Just depends on how you want to wear it, costume, etc. :-)

Hope you like it! This was a lot of fun :-)

Happy Halloween, everyone!!

I hope you have a wonderful week. Thank you so much for stopping by!

If there is one color that I love to wear year round, it would be lilac.  It's beautiful with similar shades; violets and purples, but it is also dazzling with earth tones.  Lilac is also extremely stunning on a variety of skin tones :-)

So for this week's look, I couldn't resist playing with one of my most favorite colors!

This look was created using my Coastal Scents Winterberry Palette.  It has my most favorite shade of lilac in it (bottom row) and some fantastic shades that compliment it perfectly.

Also for this look, I grabbed an AMAZING pair of bold Elise (#456) lashes from Madame Madeline.  They are some of my absolute favorites.  I love the sweep and the angle of them!

Very dramatic and romantic!

♥ Blush used was from the Lauren Luke Vintage Glams Palette
♥ Lipstick was Nyx Round Lipstick in Perfect and Bare Escentuals Buxom gloss in Lola.

Do you have a favorite year round color? :-)

Thank you for stopping by! You are all the best, and I thank you so much for your comments and interest in my makeup addiction ;-)

I hope you have an awesome day!

Beyond the Grave- Makeup From Halloween Past

As I was rummaging through some old pics, I came across this awesome and hilarious look that my husband and I did one year for Halloween.

This particular year we went as ghost servants.  I was a maid, and Babe was a chauffeur.

For the record, he was extremely well behaved during the makeup application. Not really. :-)

My creepy kitty likes to jam!

For the makeup application I did some pale foundation/powder, then hollowed out the eyes with deeper tones and added some facial contouring.  It was a fun look for us as a couple, however I was the only lady at the party fully dressed!!

Maybe this year I will be something trampy. Those costumes are so hard to find!!  lol!

Happy Halloween! :-)

More Halloween Fun- Elven Princess

Hi Everyone!!  Hope you are well!  Please please forgive me for being a bit out of touch the past week- we've had some heavy family issues, and things have been really challenging.  I feel that we are out of the "hard part" so I'm staying optimistic and full of love.  Thank you for your understanding!

So!  Staying with the theme of fun Halloween looks- let's get on already!!  :-)

This week I'm channeling my inner Elf Princess! This look is very soft, innocent, and pure.  This is me paying my kind respect to the beauty looks of the elves of Lord of the Rings and the Childlike Princess of The Neverending Story. (YAY!! I can't smile big enough when I think of that movie!)

Hope you like it!

I kept the look natural with a few exceptions.  And yes- you see me sneaking in my beloved Paperself lashes again!! I couldn't resist.  I adore them! I'd wear them every day if I could!

Anyway- here is the breakdown!
After I completed my foundation/powder and brow routine:

♥ Ulta Shadow in Naked all over lid and browbone
♥ Urban Decay Snakebite to crease
♥ Sephora Aspen Summit to lid
♥ OCC Saturate and Static to lower lid
♥ OCC Datura to inner corner/ tear duct
♥ Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk to waterline/ set with Sephora Aspen Summit shadow
♥ Mascara and eyeliner
♥ Ardell Lashes 120's
♥ Paperself Peacock accent pieces to lower lash/ outer corner
♥ Kimchi Bambi lenses in Green

♥ A mix of several of the blushes from the Nyx Crimson Amulet Collection.  No kidding.  I played with them all!
♥ Contouring of cheekbones, nose, and temples was done using the Coastal Scents Blush and Contour palette.

♥ MUA Lip Boom in It's a Situation
♥ Nyx Doll Pink Gloss

♥ EBAY.  Thank you EBAY!  The crown was purchased last year, so I don't recall the details- seller or cost :-(  The ear cuffs and earrings were also found on Ebay.  I got two pairs of the ear cuffs,  gold and silver and they were maybe $6 for the two sets.

Note:  I am highly allergic to adhesives and some molding materials, so building a pointy ear for me was not an option. :-(  I had to improvise, and I love the end result! Hey- sometimes you have to work with what you got!

Happy October and Halloween everyone!
Thank you again for stopping by :-)   I truly appreciate your comments and support!

I hope you have a truly blessed and beautiful day!

Princess Colleen of the Cupcake Forest

Bad Kitty

Happy October everyone!

I thought that I would kick off the month by doing a fun and easy Halloween look :-)

I created a beauty look, but you can turn up the volume on this if you want to add facial embellishment- like nose detailing, whiskers, fur texture, or etc. :-)

Hope you like it!

♥ Glamour Doll shadow in Stiletto to crease
♥ Sugarpill Goldilux to lid and inner corner
♥ Sugarpill black shadow in Bulletproof to outer V
♥ Ulta shadow in Naked to brow bone
♥ Sugarpill Poison Plum to waterline and lower lid
♥ Black mascara and liner
♥ Red Cherry Lashes 523's

♥ Ulta pressed blush in Afterglow

♥ Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers Lipstick in Black

As always, the question I get asked the most is what foundation I use, and right now I've been using good ol' Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse.  :-)

Thank you so much for visiting!!  I truly appreciate it :-)
I hope you have a wonderful October.  Happy early Halloween!!
