Gamer Girl Makeup- Maya from Borderlands 2

I have a confession.  I'm a bit of a gamer girl.
Perhaps you didn't know this about me :-)

So you can probably imagine my excitement this week when a game I've been waiting FOREVER for was finally released!  BORDERLANDS 2!!!

I am back in full force blowing $h!t up! YAY!!! Give me the explosives and machine guns!!

The character that I've decided to play is Maya and aside from being totally bad ass, she is fierce with her makeups! You can customize what color scheme you want her to be, and this is the one I chose.

Hope you like it!  OH! And P.S.  Just pretend I have BLUE hair, ok?
It could happen...

This is a really fun look, and with Halloween right around the corner- I can't wait to start playing with more dramatic and theatrical makeup looks!

Side note:
I remember LAST YEAR I also did another look from the first Borderlands!
This is Moxxi! My version of her is slightly more toned down.
As you can see, Borderlands has its share of creepy painted ladies!  Can't wait to see what else it has in store :-)

Hope you like it!  I can't wait to start seeing everyone's Halloween makeup looks and ideas!  Do you know what you are going to be?

I hope you have a beautiful day!

This or That. Makeup Tag!

Hey Beauties!!

I hope you are having a fabulous day!!  Today I was tagged by the very lovely and fantastically awesome Caterina of with this fun little tag that I couldn't resist. Her answers to this tag can be found HERE :-)

And let's begin!

  1. Blush or Bronzer?  First off, let me start off by saying that I'm a pale lass of Scottish descent  with very fair skin.  I'm a bit of a slave to my SPF 400, and that is perfectly fine with me :-) Sure, I might look better with a tan- but it's just not for me!  And neither is bronzer.  I'll stick with blush and let the ladies with the darker skin tones rock the bronzers :-)
  2. Lipgloss or Lipstick? I prefer BOTH... But if I had to pick ONE...Hmm....Lipstick.

  3. Chapstick or Lip Butter? Tinted Lip Balm. Hands down. Always have 2 on me at all times!

  4. Matte or Sparkle Eye Shadow? Depends on the occasion I suppose. I don't like shadows with big pieces of glitter in them, that doesn't work for me... so a happy medium is workable!
  5. Eyeliner or Mascara? Mascara Mascara Mascara! You can take that from me if you can pry it out of my fists!! Nom nom nom!!

  6. Gel, Liquid, Cream, or Pencil Eyeliner? I found a really luxurious Avon pencil liner that is really creamy. I usually use that, then follow it with a liquid liner if I'm wearing lashes :-) I've worked with gel, but not a huge fan.

  7. Foundation or Concealer? Concealer. Hands down. I've got some fantastic dark circles, and I never get enough sleep! Concealer is an instant pick me up :-)
  8. Liquid or Powder Foundation? I prefer powder for daily wear because of my oily T zone but if I'm doing a more dramatic look, I'll use a liquid foundation followed with a powder.
  1. Neutral or Statement Eyes? Statement. I love a little flair :-)
  1. Pressed or Loose Shadows? Tough call. I love the convenience and variety of pressed, but I've never- not once- ever used a loose shadow that didn't pack a punch with pigment. So, I'll go out on a limb here and go with loose shadows.

  2. Waterproof or Non Water proof? I only use waterproof. Always have. Not sure if that's because my makeup smudges under my eyes throughout of the day if I don't. I always rely on my Philosophy Purity facial cleanser to wash it away in a nano-second. Poof- gone! That stuff is magic.

  3. Brushes, Sponges or Fingers? All of the above! All must be clean, though! :-)
  4. Powder, Cream, or Liquid Highlighter? So far loving powder highlighter!!
Please jump on in if you want to participate in this tag!! I love reading your responses :-)

Fall Faves: Plum Tones (With Glamour Doll!)

It will officially be fall here in several days (so excited!!) and even though we don't get too many colors of fall on our cacti here in the desert, I'm already gearing up for the season by playing with some of my favorite fall shades!

I grabbed some of my favorite Glamour Doll shadows for this look.  Hope you like it!!

To me, this is a lovely wearable look that is super versatile. You can tone it down and wear it to the office or school, or heat things up by deepening the colors and throwing on your favorite pair of lashes for added drama.  I love a nude lip, but you could always use much bolder shades.  See? Versatile and lovely!

Here are the colors used for this look:

After foundation applied, brows completed, and lids primed:
Victorian to outer v and crease
Love Affair to blend Victorian up and out to create a gradation to brow bone
Angel Wings to inner corners/ tear duct
Picture Whore to lid
♥ Victorian was used to line the lower lash line

Then I applied liner, mascara, and Ardell Double Up lashes 205's.

For blush I used After Glow powder blush by Ulta, and the Lips are Ceto Round Lipstick by Nyx, and Nyx Round Gloss in Natural.

I hope you have a beautiful autumn.  This season's colors are my absolute favorites!
Thank you for visiting! I hope you have a beautiful day.

Ivy and I are going to be brainstorming for our next look ;-)

One Palette Challenge...and Tag :-)

So you're on a deserted island. You have a boom box and your 10 favorite mix CD's of all time.  And it's a good thing, because this isn't your ordinary deserted island.  It's an island of fierce GLAM.  Along with your music selection, you have some makeup supplies to keep up with the glamorous natives. Sure, you have a variety of lippies, blushers, eyeliners, and lashes...but you only have ONE eyeshadow palette.  Just one.  And it's not your ordinary everyday "wearing this to work" kind of palette.  (Unless...well- I don't know what kind of work you do...!)

It might look like one of these:

That's it!
That's all you have to work with.  That and a wearable brow highlighter shade.
This is my choice for my One Palette Challenge:

Although the colors are beautiful, the collection itself is delightfully all over the place.  This palette didn't flow for me. I was intimidated! So my task was to create a wearable look, using only this one palette, and a neutral brow highlighter shade.

I did it!! And how did I have the PERFECT PAIR OF EARRINGS TO MATCH?!?!?  This was a really fun challenge. I see palettes all the time with off-the-wall color combos, and why not make them work?

 So this is easy :-)
Teal to lid
Violet to crease
Purple to outer V and crease
Pink to blend crease colors up and out to brow bone
Deep Blue to lower lashline
Ulta Shadow in Naked for Highlighter shade
 Red Cherry Lashes 523

Cheeks: Ulta Powder Blush in Afterglow

Lips: MUA Shade 7 with Pinky Natural Gloss by Nyx

Do you have a palette with "outside of your comfort-zone" colors?  Do you have the MUA Poptastic palette?!?!  Do you want to take the challenge?

I tag anyone who would love to participate in the One Palette Challenge :-)  I would love to see your creations! (Just as long as you don't come to the party with an 88 palette- LOL!!!)

Hope you are having a beautiful day :-)
Be awesome to one another ♥
